Prireditve vodim več kot dvajset let. Začel sem na lokalni radijski postaji, star štirinajst let. Tam sem se naučil dvoje: da mora program teči tudi takrat, ko gre kaj narobe, in da poslušalec takoj sliši, kdaj voditelj ni pripravljen.
Danes vodim protokolarne in poslovne dogodke, podelitve priznanj, konference, okrogle mize in panele ter športne in kulturne prireditve. Na vsak dogodek se pripravim vnaprej. Preberem gradiva, preverim imena in nazive, se uskladim z organizatorjem, režijo in tehniko, pripravim tekste. Tudi ko se scenarij med večerom spremeni, in običajno se, to za goste ostane neopazno.
Na odru nisem jaz tisti, ki mora biti v ospredju. V ospredju so vaši gostje, nagrajenci in govorci. Moje delo je, da program teče po urniku in da dvorana ves čas ve, kje smo.
I have been hosting events for more than twenty years. I started at a local radio station at the age of fourteen. It taught me two things: the programme has to keep running even when something goes wrong, and the audience hears immediately when a host is unprepared.
Today I host formal and corporate events, award ceremonies, conferences, round tables and panels, as well as sporting and cultural events. I prepare for every event in advance. I read the material, check names and titles, coordinate with the organiser, the production team and the technical crew, and write the scripts. Even when the running order changes during the evening, and it usually does, the guests never notice.
On stage I am not the one who needs to be in the spotlight. Your guests, award winners and speakers are. My job is to keep the programme on schedule and to make sure the room always knows where we are.
